Yarn kit for Johanne Loop Sweater by Other Loops in Önling No 16 + silk mohair
Johanne Loop Sweater draws inspiration from the ‘Alstrøje’. A sweater in nuanced knitting designed in the 1960s or 1970s by Åse Lund Jensen, the founder of Isager. The interpretation is based on the original pattern repeat, and the shift in nuances is emphasized as the colours graduate from the top down over the sweater via the pattern repeat that extends to the bottom. Here we knit it in Önling no 16 and Önling no 10. A soft yet structured combination.

Length: 55 (56) 57 (58) 59 (60) cm / 21.7 (22) 22.4 (22.8) 23.2 (23.6) in, measured from under the neckband on the back.
The sweater should have a positive ease of approx. 20-30 cm / 7.9-11.8 in.
You should aim for a size with a bust circumference of 20-30 cm / 7.9-11.8 in larger than your real bust circumference, depending on how loose of a fit you desire.

Knit with 1 strand of No 16 and 1 strand of No 10, a total of 2 strands held together throughout the project.
Suggested needles:
Circular needles 4 mm (US 6) and 4.5 mm (US 7) in 40, 80, and/or 100 cm / 15.7, 31.5, and/or 39.4 in lengths, circular needles 3.5 mm (US 4) in 40 cm / 15.7 in length. Double-pointed needles in the same sizes or circular needles (80 cm / 31.5 in) if you knit using the Magic Loop technique.
Gauge: 22 sts x 30 rows in stockinette stitch on needles 4 mm= 10 x 10 cm/4x4 inches.
22 sts x 25 rows in colorwork on needles 4,5 mm = 10 x 10 cm/ 4x4 inches.
Knitting process:
Johanne_loop_sweater is knitted top down. First, the front and back are knitted flat, and then joined in the round to form the body. The sleeve stitches are picked up along the arm hole and the sleeves are knitted in the round. To ensure a good fit, short rows are worked at the top of both the back, shoulders, and sleeves. The body and the lower part of the sleeves are knitted in two-coloured colourwork according to chart.
